PARIS SCHOOL OF BUSINESS - DOCTORATE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (DBA PROGRAM)

Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA)

Businesses are evermore sophisticated in their needs. In the face of increasing competition, it is no longer sufficient to work harder and faster. Companies also call upon advanced minds and access to knowledge bases. It is this context that the Paris Business School proposes a Doctor in of Business Administration or DBA.

Upon successful completion of the MBA Program, students have the option to pursue studies at the post-graduate level. They may pursue the DBA (Doctorate of Business Administration) degree, which is delivered by ESG in partnership with US and UK universities. The DBA is destined for individuals who will be working professionally in advanced executive positions.

Students may propose thesis topics that are most pertinent to their future careers, usually in the area of their major. All theses topics must be approved by the Dean. The DBA Program lasts three years, during which the candidate works under a supervisor, who is also a member of the jury before which the candidate will defend his or her thesis.

Process

The DBA is divided into two parts. Over the first twelve months, participants will learn research methodology, while identifying and clarifying their future area of research. Over the remaining two to three year, participants will execute their research plans and produce a thesis of about 70000 words. The process may be articulated in conjunction with our international partners.

Link with Business

As a leading business school, we bridge the gap between learning and its application. We are always open to proposals from business for applied learning exercises. For example, a company interested in International Marketing may submit an exercise, which depending upon its learning potential and timeframe could be undertaken by participants at the DBA Program. For the participants, this constitutes an opportunity to test their skills in the real world. Companies benefit from an articulated approach to understanding the issue at stake and may also come to better know a future candidate.

Part time

In order to facilitate professional constraints, the DBA program is proposed on a part time basis over 3-4 years.

For whom?

The Paris Business Schools DBA addresses the expectations of 4 key groups:

  • Managers and Executives who wish to deepen their company’s competencies and to use research methods to bring new light to an important corporate issue.
